What is Mental Health?

Mental Health is the term widely used to decribe how we act, feel, think, and handle stress just to name a few. Mental Health is one of the most imoortant things in our lives that can be taken care of, but yet people overlook it and misdefine Mental Health as Mental Illness. Mental Illness is when you have disorders that affect your mood, thinking and behavior. For example, having Bipolar Disorder, being dignosed with depression, or being Suicidal. It is also OKAY to have a Mental Illness. You aren't less than if you have one. Mental Health is aso about how you take care of your brain, so that you can function well in the social, emotional, and behavioral areas.

How has Quarantine affected people's Mental Health?

I think we can all conclude that quarantine has been one of those moments that left us all in shock. We never expected anything like this to occur; many people weren't prepared, some got really sick and luckily survived but a lot of people also didn't. Not only that but a lot of people were also left without jobs and then that caused them to feel stressed out

How do I know that my Mental Health isn't at the best place?

I 1000% reccomend you going to a doctor if you belive that you have a Mental Illness. But, there are some early signs that can help you figure out if you have a Mental Illness, or have the startings of one. Some of the signs are as follows:

Thoughts about harming others, and/or yourself

Having frequent feelings of hoplessness

Withdrawing from activities that you would normally enjoy

And last but not least, Displaying negative emotions almost all the time

Is there anything else I should know?

You can't be magically "healed from all Mental Illess, or "Immune to all Mental Illnesses" . You can take medicine that has been ordered by your doctor to take to help reduce the effect of that Mental Illness, but you'll soon come to learn that you also have a part on reducing the effect. You can also have a Mental Illness even if you think that you don't. Remember, there are many different types of Mental Illnesses, not just depression.
